| PHOTOGRAPHY Do you use digital or film photography? We only use digital format of photography. This allows us the flexibility to get instant feedback on how the images are working and to make lighting adjustments if needed. Traditional film photography does not allow this kind of flexibility. Is there an advantage to using digital over film? Absolutely. Digital cameras allow the photographer to know that they have the shot they are looking for right at the moment they shoot it. And if they are uncertain, it takes just seconds to have a second look. Additionally, adjustments can be made immediately with a digital camera to accommodate such things as subtle light changes. A photographer using traditional film can only guesstimate using light measuring instruments that can take several minutes at a time. Some weddings only have a few minutes of light left after there ceremony so time is always of the essence. I got my start in traditional film and I have embraced the digital revolution full force. Think about it this way, traditional film limits the photographer’s knowledge of what his shots actually look like literally days after the event is over and only after the development process. A digital photographer knows what each and every shot looks like in seconds. How long do digital prints last? The digital age has come very far in the past few years and now offers a wide variety of printing options. The prints are guaranteed to last through your lifetime. How many digital cameras do you use? I use three cameras to shoot. This allows me to go back and forth between lenses quickly and easily to get the best shot for each scenario. In addition, in the event that something happened to one of the cameras (yikes!), then I would have two backup cameras to ensure not a moment is missed. How many images will you take during a traditional ceremony and reception? The beauty of digital photography is that we can take literally thousands of photographs at your ceremony. This is because all images are stored on memory cards that can be kept safe throughout the day. The typical image count during your wedding day will reach anywhere from 1000-3000 shots. The total number of shots will be edited to represent all of the best shots from the day. In other words, we will remove accidental blinks and any other photos determined to be unworthy of print. The rest are yours. Do you back up your images? Yes. We will be continually backing up your images throughout the day to a portable laptop. This allows me to backup your files in two places rather than one. How large can the prints be? Our cameras shoot at 8.5 Megapixles and larger. This translates into a quality print at least up to 8.5” x 11”. I have even printed 16”x 20” prints and they have come out surprisingly clean. These clients were very happy with the results. Are your photos printed on the same kind of paper as traditional photography? Absolutely. Digital photos are printed on the same quality paper used for traditional prints. Do you offer picture proofs? Some packages will include a set of 100 of the photographer’s favorite proofs. Retouched in color, black and white, and Sepia. Other proofs will be provided via digital format. How do I receive the proofs? You can access your proofs via this website with a password that will be provided to you and your family. I will also send you a copy of the edited down shots on DVD. Can any proof be printed in Black and White or Sepia? Yes. Will I be able to print my own pictures from the proofs provided on the CD or webpage? Yes. The proofs will be full size and ready for printing. However, all photos are copyright protected and property of August Wisdom Productions. We reserve the right to reprint or use images for any and all future commercial purposes. Can I still order prints? Yes. You, as well as your family and friends, can order these prints from this website using the easy online order form with your Visa or Mastercard. This will save you the hassle of having to the footwork yourself. Brides of the digital age have no idea how much time and effort has been saved through this convenient method. There was a day when brides had to order all the photos for the friends and family. Will I ever have unlimited access to my raw digital files? Yes, your proofs will be provided to you via DVD. The files will typically be released to you within one to two weeks. What if I prefer film to digital? We do not offer this service. I would not feel comfortable shooting in this method on such an important day. There are just too many unforeseen issues that may arise and I would not want to participate in a regrettable situation. Even professionals who use film are involved in guessing. Perhaps educated guessing, but guessing nonetheless. Do you require a deposit to book your service? A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to hold the date of the wedding. The balance can be paid any time up to two weeks prior to your wedding date. Payment options can be arranged. ___________________________________________________________________ VIDEOGRAPHY Why should I consider videography for my wedding service? The number one reason to consider videography services for your wedding day is the rapid pace in which the day unfolds. Let’s face it, you and your fiancé are going to be the center of attention all day long and the two of you are going to be rapidly moving from one event to the next. The bottom line is that you will have very little time to absorb what actually happens as the day unfolds. Preserving the day’s events on video allows you the comfort of knowing that when everything settles down, you and your fiancé, friends, and family, will be able to sit down and watch your wedding in uninterrupted clarity, word for word, moment by moment, time and time again. For many of you, it will be like watching your wedding day for the first time, as the video enables you to experience things you just didn’t see the day of your wedding. If I already plan on having photography, why would I need video too? Photography is a wonderful and time-honored tradition that allows us to capture specific moments in time. Unfortunately, you cannot fast forward or rewind a photo, listen to the audio clarity of a photo, or watch the entire event in which the photo was set. Only digital video can preserve the most important day of your life as a treasured timepiece for generations to come. And only video allows you to watch your wedding day, moment by moment, time and time again, with family, friends, and one day, your children. Do you require a deposit to book your service? Yes. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to hold the date of the wedding. The balance can be paid any time up to two weeks prior to your wedding date. If you are booking both photo and video services then one deposit of $500 is all that is required. Payment options can be arranged. What kind of camera’s do you use? The digital Canon XL2 with 3CCD Technology. This camera is state of the art and used by professionals for a quality product. Do you offer Digital HD Video? Yes. The rates are higher but we proudly offer you this premier service option. Do you offer a video or picture montage to be played at the reception? For an additional cost we can supply you with a video or picture montage set to music. Price will vary depending on request. Call for details. Do I get to choose which songs are played on my video or ceremony montage? Yes. The picture montage during the ceremony is created to a song, or songs, of your choosing. In addition, I ask you to choose the songs for the highlight and credit reels so they are personally meaningful to you and your spouse. All other events in the video will be set to the music that took place the day of the ceremony/reception. Why should I pay for videography if I can have a friend or family member use their video camera? The bottom line is we are professionals. We do this for a living and we are trained to get the shots that you want most. Our services include the use of professional quality digital video equipment that allows us to create a visual and sensory experience you simply cannot get from a family member and a home camcorder. Our prices also include post-production editing with professional transition graphics, event titles, and audio enhancement techniques, which transform your wedding video into a professional looking movie experience. A friend or family member can’t come close to the quality and professional product that we offer. Look at some of our samples in the portfolio page. Common problems with using a friend for video: Forgot to turn the camcorder on during the ceremony Accidentally hit the stop/pause button during the ceremony People’s heads are in the video Too far away from the ceremony Too shaky very hard to watch Cannot hear the audio Wasn’t in the room when a special event took place These problems are all preventable by hiring video professionals. |
